scrambled rtf and doc files

I keep my backups on 100mb ZIP discs. I have three of them. But all of sudenly they start to mutate (maybe because of low temperatures - I keep them in my car) . All of them. I can not delete some files and some files are corrupted, esspecaly doc and rtf files. However I can open them, just to find the text utmostly scrambled. Is there anything I can do to save the data?
