These .15 cans of Stop and Shop "Rally" Cola are sure hitting the spot with the leek and potato soup I made tonight. You ever buy food at the market for a screaming bargian. This soda is likely from a box that broke since the cans were standalone in a metal rack near the meat section. Somewhat sticky, but i don't give a shit about that.

Once a week or so, the local Pathmark has some veggies for 50% off or more. They've gone past the "sell by" date, but are still good. We make a lot of soups, so the veggies work great here.

Hmmm Rally Cola is $1.99 for a 12 pack here so
like 1 cent off for loose, dented, sticky ones doesn't sound like a deal

Grocery Outlet for the win! My favorite is the "expired" cheese, especially cheddar. Stuff marked mild cheddar becomes delicious sharp cheese, at a steep discount. 😀

Do you also consider sour milk to be yogurt?

I miss living near a Grocery Outlet. They were great for finding things that I could get in Texas but not on the west coast.
The closest one to me now is about 80 miles away. 🙁

Often times, when I look in the weekly ads, pringle cans can be 10/$10.

After Christmas, I bought a bunch of xmas ready to bake cookies for $1.

Yep. Before I gave up cola last year, I used to buy Coke or Pepsi regularly at $3.60-$4.60 per 24 pack. People always kept telling me that 15 cents a can for off-brand cola was a good deal. But I kept laughing and buying Coke or Pepsi at that price. I just happen to shop at an inexpensive store though.

Yep. I buy torn/scratched boxes for cheap in the damaged goods rack. But dented cans worry me too much. I won't risk severe pain/death to save a few pennies on a can of food.

My husband buys soured organic milk to make yogurt, so... yeah. We've also bought a side of beef to butcher and freeze, and make cheese out of raw sheep's milk from friends.

People today are so isolated from the source of their food that they're afraid of anything that doesn't come prepackaged with a date stamp on it.

Not all good things come in a McDonald's wrapper. 😀
