Scouts and Homosexuals... again!?

Ha yes, excellent work by congress.... for once.

The supreme court affirmed the right of the organization to choose the people they want to have lead their troops.

Then the liberals and PC crowd tried to do an end-run around the constitution by denying the scouts access to schools, access they definitely need to keep doing all the good things they do.

With this house and senate bill, the PC crowd in the schools will have to think hard about doing that end-run: they'd loose their federal funding. State legislators in Ohio are considering a similar measure that would keep schools from denying BSA access.

i support them 100%. I am actually about to be an eagle scout. I don't really enjoy it so much more myself, but I think it is a great program. Homosexuals can go to hell. I am sure that will piss someone off. Live with it, fool.

That's exactly the WRONG attitude :|. Attacking homosexuals is not right, nor is depriving them of the right to live their life as they choose.

I support the boyscouts and their constitutional right to determine who should lead their scouts, but I have no animosity or hostility towards the gay community.

We should aim to protect everyone's right to live their life and make their own choices.

Ewwww.......... A Good portion of scouting is learning how to become a decent human being, not selfish pleasure-grabbing. :|
 
As an added note, while I have no hostility to gay PEOPLE, I don't support homosexuality itself. Further explaination shouldn't be necessary...

You're saying that our attitude is wrong.
So, that makes me assume that casting judgment on another person's attitude is viewed as acceptable by you.
So, then why can't other people cast thier own judgement on the homosexual attitude toward sexuality?

However, I really don't have anything against homsexuals. I think that some of the stuff they do is gross, but it's not my place to tell them whether they can or can't do it. It IS, howerver my place to choose whether or not I want to associate with them, and I don't beleive the governemt should be able to force me to associate with homosexuals, or ANY group or individual that I dont especially want to be around.

Nope, I may disagree with your attitude or oppinion, but I completely defend your right to have that opinion.

In the same way, homosexuals have the right to live as they please, and the scouts have the right to determine who they want to be their scout leaders. Everyone has the right to run their own life without being forced into agreeing with someone else's ideas.

acctually, I would never acctually say that out loud. As a peron, everyone I know considers me to be a very nice and respectful person. I am always nice to strangers and other people as a person. On this board, you are hearing my thoughts, as opossed to me. I generally keep most of my thoughts to myself, because I really don't like offending people. What I said is what I THINK about gay people. I keep that to myself usually.

First, I'm not gay, so don't even think of going there. Second, I work around the entertainment business, so I know a lot of good, kind, creative people who are, some of whom I am proud to call a friend.

If a piss poor homophobic example of a human being like you is what the Boy Scouts stand for, it's time to lose the whole lot of 'em, starting with you.

i probably should add that what I am saying does not put the boy scouts in a good image. most boy scouts would not say what I have said, so don't go assuming that all boy scouts are like me.

again, I do not represent what most boy scouts think/say/beleive/etc.

oh, and i don't doubt that homosexuals can be really nice/normal people. I doubt that I would be able to tell that they were gay by talking to them, unless they told me. Of course, if I knew someone that was gay, and just found out that they were gay, I would simply try not to have anything to do with them. I think I could live with a gay person as a coworker or something, but that is about it. Now, if that person were to start making moves or something, I think I would run far and fast, and never come back near that place or them again.
 
Jesus, are we in the 50's still?! This is horrible news... Being a past member of Boy Scouts in Iowa, I heard alot of anti-homosexual crap all of the time. However, the boy scouts can do what they want since they are a private organization, but that shouldn't lead to cutting funds to schools who protest the boyscouts. That is just absurd.
