They should have gotten a warrant, you would think it would have been simple, it's an excellent precedent by SCOTUS. However, I think unfortunately now a known killer and gang member may walk free?

I dont think the supreme court gives a damn about the little people.
They were pressured by dirty politicians who use their cell phones to order thai boys for the night.

I agree with this ruling. From a cell phone, police could essentially obtain phone records which previously required a warrant. This doesn't really have a ton of implications, as they can hold the cell phone in evidence until they obtain a warrant to search it. No real loss, and a huge civil rights boost. No longer does a person have to worry about self incrimination from texts without proper due process first.
