SCOTUS rules: gay marriage approved

The gays are still mentally ill people just like your local pedophiles and the village tranny.

Bigoted sentiments like this are unwelcome here.

Maybe we won't get much of a reafction. After watching the news following the ACA decision, I figured most of the Repubs heads already exploded.

And TuSpockShakur, you're world is closing in around you. Tough shit you fucking bigoted, ignorant, mouth-breather.

The rending of clothes from the social conservatives in the GOP should be entertaining.

I'm still kind stunned how quickly and far gay marriage has come in the last decade in the US. It seemed inconceivable only a few years ago that it would be legal nationwide not to mention poll favorably amongst the population.

I turned on just to see what they said. so far they been for it. but its judge joe whatever his name. he is pretty much one of the few that uses logic.

he is going on about the judges that were against it. pretty harsh too.

Fox is relatively decent, at least as far as cable news goes, in the late morning/early afternoon hours (after Fox and Friends, and before the prime-time talking heads kick in)

The court also whacked the ACCA in an 8-1 which governed some mandatory sentencing. Prosecutors were using the threat of 15 year minimum sentences to get people to plead guilty.

ROFL> ok the fox news commentor made a comment about people wanting to do things outside the scope. such as being married to children. then threw in getting married to disabled. WTF LOL

/facepalm

My position on this is complicated. I was the first person in my circles to advocate for gay marriage. Then, with my parents speaking against it, I strained to understand their position. Eventually I understood and accepted that it was reasonable to want to maintain marriage as an intersex institution, and have the default governmental 2 person union be a civil one.

It isn't the job of the courts to redefine a word like this, as 4 of the justices in this ruling understand. They noted a lot of the people have been turning in favor of this new understanding of marriage. That's fine, and healthy in my opinion. That should've been allowed to continue with the legal system for it we had. No new system & expansion of federal power needed.
