I was in Target today and saw that they have bags of this stuff for $3.98 on clearance, normally $16.00. Anyone have any idea how many years this stuff will last and remain effective against crabgrass? I was thinking about buying a five years worth at that price if it will keep. :)

The chemical is Pendemethlin at about 1.21% concentration. Ideally you would want to get 3-6 Months control. Scotts advises to not use the product more than twice a year. Not a bad product for warm-season turfgrasses but be very careful not to over apply the product. You can usually pick up this product (which is usually 0-0-7 w/ pendemethlin) at any fertilizer/feed store. You can also get 34-0-0 with Pendemethlin that will put out Nitrogen also.

Sounds like you know what you are talking about.

My question is what is the shelf life of this stuff. I wouldn't ever consider over applying this stuff. My question is more related to shelf life. I am considering buying 5-10 years worth, but want to make sure that the active ingredient doesn't break down. :p
