As of right now the US has more than 40 emergencies in effect, one has been an ‘emergency’ for more than 40 years. If that’s your standard then the US was never normal and won’t ever be.My life has returned to my normal, but we as a nation have not returned to "normal" as we still have a Federal Public Health Emergency still in effect.

If US troops need to be in Taiwan, then it's already lost. The battle will be mostly air and naval. China won't be able to risk sending troop transports until they secure the route.I do agree that the Pandemic is essentially over. I, for one, am thankful to have a President who stands up to America's enemies rather than creating division and enmity amongst Americans.The pandemic is over and we will put boots on the ground in Taiwan if they are invaded by China.
