I just want to see a body. The fact that his money can't be taken away now through prosecution, and only compensary damages can be claimed on a "deceased" individual through civil action means that the Lay family will probably be able to keep almost all of the money he stole.

It was a smart move if he really died (committed suicide which I doubt because he was a preacher's son) or he faked his death. If he died on accident because of a heart attack, that was almost too fortunate for his family.

The ability of people to blindly believe something despite a total lack of evidence to support it simply amazes me.

A lack of evidence supporting that he faked his death? That doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, it means that it's not evident (no pun intended... doh!). Granted, I'm one to believe in conspiracies (crop circles... doh!!!), but this just seems like it was all too conveinent.

Exist or not, you haven't seen it, and have no knowledge of such evidence. Therefore for you to have "no doubt" that he faked his death is absurd. Logically, at best, you have a coincidence that may lead to a suspicion.

Agreed. But I think that they need to show the body and have outside investigators look into seeing if it is really Ken Lay. Test DNA and check for facial reconstruction (on the extreme) if they do present a body. I don't see why they haven't. It is just too suspect to let the public just let this slide. Pictures don't prove anything. I want conclusive proof.

You're right, I have absolutely no knowledge, but there's no reason for me not to believe in something that's absurd. It's one of my personal opinions, and I know it's stupid, but I don't care - you probably have some stupid opinions too. I'm just throwing an idea around.

Keep in mind that Lay didn't preside over the creation of the structure intended to fool investors. Personally, I am not sure if he is even all that guilty. He was brought in towards the end, and while he did hawk the stock, he did so at his own peril also.

Skilling and Fastow, on the other hand, deserve to lose *everything* they have. The schools that issued their degrees should yank those also.

Linda Lay has released a photo of husband moments after he was pronounced dead. "I hope this will shut up all those doubting Thomas's out there.' She explained. "How 'bout we just move on, and not actually look for him anywhere out of the country."

Yay, because that's the first thing I do when my husband dies - take a picture and disprove conspiracies.

I don't know what to say about that first link, actually.

It seems like it is too late now. No one in the public seems to care that it seems the guy is getting away with it.

My theory is that Ken ? if that?s his real first name ? named himself after a bag of chips, scammed his way up the corporate ladder, stole a few hundred million dollars, faked his death and sailed to Aruba where dead people are rarely found.

It pisses me off that you keep repeating this absurd accusation with no proof whatsoever, and bumping this thread that no one except you cares about ;)

So you've cried enough that there is no proof that he didn't fake his death...

I think people will start taking you seriously once you show proof that he did fake his death

Well no one seems to want any proof. I mean how in the hell can they allow for cremation of the body before an open ended investigation? Tell me that. No one in the public seems to care.

If they show the body and have an actual investigation, I would be okay with all of it. But there is too much coincidence to say that you cannot be doubtful yet no one seems to care.
