Sup fellas,

I'll be in Scotland in August, with a roughly set itinerary. I really want to go for a hike on the Isle of Skye, but the closest I'll be is 2 nights in Inverness. From what I can tell there are bus services that go between Inverness and Portree. Trains too, but I think the bus is cheaper/just as convenient.

The most appealing hikes I've found so far are:

How (un)realistic is it to take a bus there and back and do the hike all in the same day? Has anyone done any similar, or have alternative suggestions?

I could always go back and do Skye at a later time, but since i'll be in the rough area anyways I feel like this is as good as opportunity as any.

Thanks!

Google says 7hrs just for travel time roundtrip. Bus might be way slower.

We, meaning I, drove from Glasgow to there. Man that sucked balls. It sure was pretty though. Saw both ends of a rainbow there.
