Scotland should time this vote for just after Britain negotiates the final terms of their withdrawal from the EU. That would give the Scots the most leverage to get what is best for them.

If I understand correctly, Scotland needs to obtain independence before England exits the EU. That way Scotland doesn't leave the EU along with England. England leaves by itself with Scotland remaining. I have heard doubts expressed that Scotland, were it outside the EU, couldn't qualify for EU entry on it's own.

I wonder if investment/money/capital from London/England would flow to Scotland if England departs and Scotland remains in the EU?

Scots are practical and level headed. That's why they voted to stay with the UK in the first place. Now that Britain has done something completely stupid by leaving the EU, the practical and level headed Scots are telling them to pound sand.
