backups are overwritten every 12 hours and they only have 1 copy of the backup? their whole backup scheme was retarded.

D: I can't imagine running any sort of business like that

(Ferrari part)

This show sounds absolutely terrible

So it goes like this the info from the family picture leads to them to a cage that is not locked and then from that figured out the server is on the left side of the isle, then figures out what rack its in and THEN finds the one drive that is part of a SAN and pulls that drive... and behold it is labeled LAX on the drive carrier. they did this in about 4 minutes.

I can't even find the drive(s) I want in our SAN in under 4 minutes :p

I watched it last night - the premise of this show is sorta interesting but if they aren't going to make anything plausible why bother. Why the hell would you buzz the tower or pull the ferrari stunt and not just land the fucking plane. If there was enough distance do pull that stunt... there was enough distance to land.

Magic software causes means 57 planes will crash. So we are saying the pilots would be 0% for being able to land their planes without the control tower... really... lol. Fly to another airport that wasn't hit with the bugged LAX software.

It's on CBS... they can't even do football right (Sims and Nantz are their A Team?)

CBS is the WORST. If you couldn't tell this show was going to blow by the commercials, your deductive reasoning skills are suspect.

you don't like his "Phil-osophy" segments? D:

Yes, the tech stuff was horribly bad...

No one tested the new airline software before pushing it out?

backups are overwritten every 12 hours and they only have 1 copy of the backup? their whole backup scheme was retarded.

the backup HD was then wiped by a speaker magnet in the car door

At 1 point they had a computer screen where you could clearly see the computer rebooting but in the foreground, they were running some kind of software.

apparently either the airline software is very small or they all use very fast cetwork connections because they were going to email the software to the airline.

they then found a plane that had not been updated to the new software yet so they flew the plane really low to try to download it wirelessly from the plane. that didn't work because the plane was going to fast relative to them sitting in the tower. so they got a ferrari and drove high speed down the runway with the plane right overtop of them. they had the co-pilot unhook a really long ethernet cable (i highly doubt they would have a cable that long) from something in the plane, go down through the landing gear and plug it into a laptop which a girl was holding in the ferrari. the plane had to ascend so the laptop flew out of the car still attached to the plane, but not right before it finished downloading the software (i think they said they had 7 seconds to download it). I'm not sure why they had to use a cable instead of wireless like they originally tried. somehow, the software got from that laptop to the tower and they installed it and got it working in like 5 seconds.

Not sure how this plane didn't get the new software wireless like all the others?

I'm sure there was other stuff I am missing.

Show sounds epic.

... sigh.
It actually won the time slot, almost 14 million people watched it, though they lost 4 million people from the lead-in.

Of course it won the slot. It had a juggernaut lead-in and it was HEAVILY promoted, so there was never a doubt that the opening would be good. What happens next week though now that the curious have peeked in to check it out? It wouldn't be surprising to see the ratings drop 25% for next week. Even if the average viewer is not technologically savvy enough to understand the silliness of the science, the rest of the show is not compelling. The geeks will be turned off by the tech and everyone else will probably be turned off by the writing and the characters. They're just not very likeable.

Lots of Deus Ex Machina will go on in this show.

Every episode will have the writers pulling something out of their collective asses at the last moment to close out the hour.

It's definitely not GOOD...but dammit, in spite of the stupidity...it's kind of fun to watch...even if only to laugh at the stupidity of the writers and actors.

Down yet again, but, still winning the time slot for some strange reason.

Looks like it will be picked up :(

The Soup had a clip from some reality show where the contestants were asked to watch the show and rave about how "awesome" it was. Looked terrible in just the few seconds I saw.

TV ratings in general are lousy these days.

We did it to ourselves. We watch crap. They put on more crap.

Kinda like Walmart. We only go for the low-low prices, so they stock up on chinese garbage and treat employees like Irish coal miners.

Its us, not them. We asked for it, we got it.
