I just scored a 19? LG 995FT flatron monitor from my company. A coworker had her monitor replaced because the LG was too blurry for her to use, and I asked for it when the boss told us to throw it out. In my office, I took me less than 5 minutes of adjusting the focus on the flyback unit, and now I have a tack sharp 19? monitor for home :)

I got a 21" Trinitron monitor from my office a few months ago. Similar situation, one of the execs was using it and it has two incredibly faint lines running across it which must have bothered them so they upgraded to an LCD. All of us peons have 17" monitors so they couldn't put it out in the cubicle farm - they were going to just throw it out. Luckily one of the girls in IS asked me if I wanted it... and now it's on my desk at home! :D

You really should give it back now that you've fixed it.

Just kidding!

Faint lines? Those are the Trinitron wires. What an idiot!

I've got all you guys beat. Walked into my local surplus store yesterday (Midwest Surplus Electronics). Guy who owns the place (Roger) knows me and he's like "Hey, I wanna get rid of these Sun monitors. You want em?"

Anyway, I walk out with 4 GDM-1962b 19" monitors which are relatively fixed frequency, resolutions 1152x864-1280x960 and refresh between 72 and 75Hz. Also in the group was a GDM-17E20, which is a multisync 17" monitor. All Sun monitors are Sony Trinitrons. :)

Total was $75.

Earlier in the week, I had scored a GDM-20E20 which is a 20" multisync. Max res is something like 1736x1344. :) That bad boy was $70.

I'm not complaining. :D They're not even visible unless you specifically look for them. I think the guy just wanted an LCD.

Now I leave my old 17" Samsung at my buddy's house for LAN gaming.

Speaking of monitors, I sent my Nokia 445PRO in for warranty repair a few weeks ago. I called yesterday to check the status and they said they're going to look for it and if it isn't found by the end of the day, they will send me a replacement unit.

Cool, but I'm not going to give up my Panasync pro. It is time to have dual head....I have and old NV 440MX PCI graphics card that can be use for the second monitor.

Just setup the extra monitor & it is just as sharp as my Panasync Pro, however the colour on the LG is not at good as the Panasync.

I'll have to get a Macbeth colour chart & spend sometime adjusting the colour. And, the LG has replace my old 15" NEC as the second monitor.
