SCO offers $250k for arrest and conviction of MyDoom author

(Nasdaq: SCOX), the owner of the UNIX(R) operating system and a leading provider of UNIX-based solutions, today confirmed that it is experiencing a distributed Denial-of-Service (DDOS) attack. SCO announced that it is offering a reward of up to a total of $250,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for creating the Mydoom virus.

Man...$250 ain't much of a reward. I doubt they'll have to pay it, either, SCO is probably the #1 hated company in technology right now.

I know it's $250,000, I'm just giving the OP some grief. SCO is hated because they're essentially claiming ownership of Linux when they have no legitimate evidence.

Because they are suing IBM, Red Hat, and are trying to take down the OSS movement down a few notches. They have enlisted the help of David Boies and hes firm. Boies old firm is representing IBM.

David Boies is being paid in large part by stock, but he will also get a rather high precentage if SCO should win their case.

You mean they haven't publically disclosed legitimate evidence, which they are not required to. They only have to show the evidence to the courts. And they are not claiming ownership of Linux, they are claiming ownership to parts of Linux.
