Scissors in, saws out

Food served on airplanes generally isn't the best and cutting that chicken can be hard at times so I can understand the saw for shore 😉

common sense? why does one need to be able to carry on scissors?

And if common sense mattered, you wouldn't be allowed to carry on 4 books of matches.

The 9/11 hijackers were successful because they made an unexpected change in the way they operated, not because they were armed with box cutters. Note that by the time the passengers in the 4th plane found out that the rules of the hijack game had changed the box cutters no longer provided much help to the hijackers.

I'm not worried about terrorists as much as random psychos wielding a pair of steel scissors like a knife. The banning of cuticle scissors and toenail clippers is ridiculous, but there is no reason to allow blades or scissors longer than 3". Or flame-producing objects.

We all know a determined terrorist will figure out a way to get something on board anyhow. But with the potential for air rage incidents, better safe than sorry.
