Scion XD little deviant ads

I am talking about the one where they go around cutting off people's heads Daniel Pearl style, because supposedly driving a Scion is somehow being deviant now? I am not sure how that's supposed to make me want to buy a Scion. 😕

It's obviously supposed to appeal to the younger video game crowd.

I want to strangle the makers of that commercial.

How is buying a crappy Toyota rehash "different"? HOT TOPIC CROWD, CHECK IN! Quick, buy this car or you're a conformist!

The European Sport Ka commercials were a lot more funny.
I think there were 3 of them, but I have only seen two.

I've only ever seen the cat and the pigeon one and have never heard of a third.

Oh, and the xD is ugly.

I get that part, but even video games are generally not into decapitations, that is mainly reserved for snuff anime cartoons and such. Especially with innocent looking human like sheep being the ones decapitated for no other reason aside from choosing to drive boring cars.
Plus who are the sheeple here? Toyota's bread and butter customers.
I really think they are going to alienate buyers who just want an XD for cheap reliable transportation, and don't necessarily want the violent idiot image that goes with the ad campaign.

they played this ad before showing harry potter in the theater. literally everyone there said 'what the fuck' afterward.

Yep, but now there's threads about it all over the internet, so I guess it's working

Yeah, all the way up until they showed the car, I was thinking "I wanna try this game. Do you play as the deviants or the sheeple?"
