Why only one on the left side?

I know thats how they do it in Japan, but it just looks stupid.

Couldn't that be dangerous to someone walking past from the rear right side?

I saw one today and it looked stupid IMO.

Actually, on many cars it's a separate light. On my S70, it's a unique bulb.

On my car, i have 2 seperate fog lights on the bottom of the bumper.
