scifi series :Defiance on Netflix Holland. is it a good series?

I desire some good science fiction series. Unfortunately Xfiles is not on it and stargate is also not available on netflix netherlands. I am tired of all those crime series of netflix as do i find werewolfs and vampires boring.(Although Hemlock grove was entertaining.) I think the series defiance seems promising at first glance. What do you folks think of defiance ?
 
Its worth watching. I think they cancelled it, but the last episode puts some amount of closure to its main character.
 
Oke. We have a very limited offering of scifi series. 🙁

I would love to see stargate sg1 since i have missed most. I have 2 seasons on dvd but the last few years, the prices for dvd boxes have risen a lot to the point of too high.

My internet was out for a few days this past week, spent my time rewatching SG1. I have all 10 seasons and the movies. 😎

Not a bad way at all to pass the time. On the contrary.
I have stargate atlantis season 1 to 4. I still have to get season5. I also have a stargate sg1 movie. Ark of truth or something. I have also a lot of seasons from x files and a lot of other dvd movies. I fear for the day that i cannot buy a dvd player anymore.D:
 
I miss the alien ships in defiance. Outer space and new worlds together with space exploration leaves a lot of room for interesting episodes.
 
"The Expanse" is a new scifi show that has been pretty solid so far, not sure how easily available it is in your country though.
 
is Fringe or Firefly available?

I know you said you don't care for vampires, but who doesn't love Buffy?

Defiance was good. Biggest complaint would be that they could have tightened up things a bit with season 2.
 
Check out Ascension on Netflix Canada... it's short enough that even if you don't like it you've only lost a few hours.

The Expanse is sort of convoluted but worth watching. Some of the science stuff doesn't really track (like the gravity on some of the asteroids), but it's a good story. Not completely original, but still good.

I find The Expanse convoluted, but more importantly, I'm not a fan of a couple of the main characters, including the detective. Overall I think they aimed moderately high, but unfortunately missed.

I haven't watched it since about episode 7. However, considering it only has 10 episodes total in the first season, maybe I'll just finish off the season.

I liked Dark Matter and Killjoys better, although neither are A-grade material either.

Orphan Black was great in the first season, but started to deteriorate after that. By the way, I saw that farmer girl actress walking down the street. She looks exactly the same in real life as she does on the show. It's a little disconcerting actually. 😛

Dark angel is not available, i have some seasons on dvd but not all. And i think the show got cancelled when it got really interesting.

Babylon 5, i have seen them all and enjoyed it.
I had to think of : "Earth: Final Conflict". Was a fun series.
Revealing plot up to the end.

But, i am in luck because netflix just added series.
A comedy called Fuller house(netflix original) will start from tomorrow.
When i was younger, i enjoyed the comedy series full house. Of course, not a scifi series.

They added an anime manga series called : "death note".
That could be interesting.
And an anime manga series called : ""Bleach".
I think i have seen some movies and they were fun.

All in all, i have something to look forward too. 🙂
