Who's your favorite scifi artist? Lately I've been really digging the art of Keith Parkinson (Death Gate Cycle, Shannara).

I've always liked Michael Whelan..
His work in the 80's for authors like CJ CHerryh was excellent. I can't recall seeing anything of his in the last few years though.

Less Sci-fi, more Fantasy; well, not fantasy either, but I'm currently digging Edward Gorey.

H R Giger doesn't even come close to this guy, IMO. 😉

Very interesting.

The thing is, he was an illustrator starting from the 50s, if I'm correct; his stuff predates (and content-wise competes with if not beats) today's stuff!

Did someone else write the captions under the pictures, or were they written by him?

He wrote it. He wrote a bunch of morose stuff; a lot of it was really pointless stuff, but there were some of it which is really really dark.

I wish there was more of his artwork on that site. (Maybe there is, I didnt look well 😱)

Neal Stephenson. But he has kinda moved away from scifi and more into pure fiction. And his writing has gotten better and better. But hey, he still counts just because of Snow Crash and Diamond Age.
