Sci-fi/Hi-tech vehicles of land & water

Lots of vehicles still look relatively same for the past 20 years or so. Since 1990 to 2010 things have changed, but it feels to me like it's the same thing that happened from 1960's to 1980's transition.

Do you think these things are ever going to happen within the next 20-30 years?

Or do you think they are simply inappropriate in some form (efficiency, stuff like that) that they won't come out?

Some concept ideas, doesn't all have to be land only.

On a serious note I think the main problem (and why most concepts look 10 times better before their release versions) is due to safety concerns of the US DOT.
