sci-fi channel is falling to the power of Anime

You will be assimilated.

IMHO, it is a good move. Anything to diversify the Sci-Fi channel lineup from the drek that is on there now outside of Friday night.

in my opinion, anime sucks.

Then what better place to put it than the Sci-Fi channel?

As long as the animes aren't dubbed (which there's a high chance they are), I'd watch it. At least they're showing GITS: SAC SSS... the dreaded movie that Bandai threatened to sue people over if they fansubbed it.

Oh noes! A whole, once-a-week, 2-hour block of Anime centered around midnight!?! There's goes the neighborhood. Quick! Sell you homes now before they lose value!

If I sell my home, I have no where else to go

Regarding all the hatred for anime gathering in this thread, japanese animation is simply a form of entertainment. For me, like all other forms (movies, music, video games, so on) the majority of it sucks, but there are a few good titles.

However, enligsh-dubbed anime almost always sucks. The only exception is Cowboy Bebop, since I was actually able to listen to it.

Didn't G4 used to have some midnight block of anime?

back in the day ( like 10 years ago) they used to show anime for like 2 hours ever saturday or sunday it was the Anime Matinee

Yep, the Saturday Matinee (browsing around that site sure makes me 🙁 , because our comcast office didn't add sci-fi to our line-up until after a lot of those shows listed were replaced).
