Parts of this are interesting............

GERMANY?S coalition Government was on the brink of collapse yesterday

German diplomats are well aware that an American plan for a robust UN inspection system was floated last year and dropped, having drawn little international enthusiasm. A European reworking of that plan, drawn up without the consultation of the United States, would be seen only as an affront by Washington.

Seems the US has not just "suddenly" decided to go after Saddam/Iraq, they have wanted to/tried for quite a while now but no other country was interested in enforcing the resolutions Saddam agreed to.:(

Man, its just time for the US to wave bye bye to the UN and go our own way.
No other country gives a damn about our well being in any form other then lip service.
Its time to do it on our own.

The only reason why German and France dont want us to have a war is because of all of their imports of oil from them.

Have they been trying to get congress to vote for war or to just actually deal with the problems in Iraq instead of ignoring them.

What was Clinton's feeling on the situation in 1998?

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Just trying to deflect the appeasement policy of Europe?

What does your original comment have to do with Europe's less than enthusiastic approach to enforcing resolutions as was commented on in the original post. Maybe you should check up on your own reading skills.

egads, you mean it isn't just Pres. Bush being a warmonger.

Someone hasn't kept the story straight.

Turn to page 83 of your playbook.

Well seeing how the Gulf War never ended.... A cease fire was signed contingent on several things including the declaration and distruction of Iraqi WMD which didn't happen. So actually this isn't an attack on Iraq out of the blue, it is just a resumtion of operations after a 12 year hiatus.
