First real snow ... most schools closed down, so I'm home with the kids :)
Hard to tell how much we got ... it's windy as hell. I'm guessing about 5 or 6 inches here.

Meh ... I don't make the rules. With the country overrun with lawyers the way it is, I'm not suprised that they call it at the first flake. FWIW, the northern end of our district is reporting 10" to 12"

That's a cool summer's day up here. Until they start measuring how cold it is in "It takes ____ seconds for exposed flesh to freeze" I shall mock your weak American standards of "winter". :D

Yea, I think so, hence the "most schools" in my first post. I've heard it isn't to bad in town. We're in district 20.

Yep. It's not unusual to get snow around here in Oct. We had a dusting a few weeks ago. It ALWAYS snows or is ugly on halloween (16 out of the past 20 years according to the news last night). We had a huge blizzard here in Oct. 97

I hope you've never had a "heat emergency" up there in ontario. ;)

We give our Georgia relatives crap when they have to shut down the entire state for 1/2" of snow, but in return they laugh at us every summer when we have heat emergency days in Chicago.

In Michigan we were lucky enough to have closed school with 12 inches of snow on top of an inch of ice during 40 mph winds.

Never heard of it. We only have summer about two months of the year in Northern Ontario. :p
