School Speed Zones ... my biggest pet peeve

20mph limit here ... flashing yellow lights to indicate times in effect ... yet still people FLY through speed zones. Other places I've seen 15mph or 10mph zones ... so 20 is pretty generous ...

If I were a cop, I'd beg to be on school zone speed patrol ... it'd be never ending fun.

Today I was goin' through one, and this lady was pissed I was going 20mph, so she went for the pass, and I jumped into the middle of both lanes to block her fat retarded ass ... she got so pissed ... it was awesome ... I had to share.
 
I think the best fix is the massive speed humps that I see here in Chicago. Speed over those your car is going to feel the pain.

when i was stationed in Vegas the fine for speeding through a school zone was $100 bucks per mile per hour you are over.

It was and has been the only city where i saw EVERYBODY going the speed limit.

speed-sensitive land mines like in BF1942 would be better. go slow enough and they don't detonate.
 
99% of people in my town follow the posted speed limit while the light is flashing. those that dont are usually young drivers.

The ticket thing raises the question ... if there were a gunman shooting in a shopping mall, and you pulled out your illegal, unregistered gun, and took him out ... would you get arrested/fined/ticketed for the illegal weapon? Or praised for taking out the gunman?

I have no problem with speeding on the highway, but I think speeding through a school zone (when children are present) deserves the death penalty.

But in some smaller towns and some of Texas, there may be a better likelyhood of keeping that part under the table. I would think that for saving some lives and doing some good the police would give you a slap on the wrist, seeing as it would probably be taken from you as evidence anyway.
 
If you really want to help little kids, there are much better ways than reckless driving

We sometimes have a motorcycle cop at our high school that just sits in the school zone. I would say he pulls about 4 or 5 teens for speeding.

I always try to obey school zones, but I have a couple of peeves about them.
1) People who slow down for them when they aren't flashing. Ok, an hour before or after school, I can understand because there's still kids around, but I've been behind some jackasses who slow down at 8pm!

2) School zone signs WITHOUT lights. I got ticketed for going 30 through one of these. Hell, there wasn't even a school on the street (it was on the other side of the block 😕 )! The signs just look like parking/no parking signs if they don't have the lights!
