What's wrong with kids these days?

Lack of parental involvement and guidance in their lives combined with being told that they are the most special things on the face of the earth and that only their happiness and needs are important.

It really makes me want to go smack the parents.

Let's let our computers raise our kids, so we don't have to. Let's throw money at the problem. Let's buy them whatever they want. This country has been going to hell in a handbasket, and it's gonna continue, unless we change something.

I have some updates from a press conference. The shooter was a 17 year old male from Coleman (about 20 minutes out of town) who came to the school looking for the female. For whatever reason the female wasn't at school that day and so her mom drove her there. The male shot her once in the arm and two or three times in the chest and then shot himself in the head.

Those seem to be quite contra to each other. Especially if you think of republicans as being the holy rollers of America :p.

its the gays...they made him do it.
I thought it was the liberal jewish D&Ders.

Ok, sorry. It's apparent that 13 year olds will not understand the concept, or the mechanisms of these outrages.

If parents were here, we could actually have a discussion about this.

It actually happened in one of the parking lots. They administrators didn't know he had a gun (it was in his backpack) but since he wasn't a student they requested he left. I'm not sure why the mom and the girl drove to the school. It would have made more sense for him to go to their place.

What's wrong with kids today is immediate gratification, and if it isn't immediate, cheap or easy, then there will be hell to pay. All we need to do is be more realistic with kids today.

I went to the rival high school in midland...

Midland really just appears to be a quiet town. Alot of problems there are ignored or kicked under the rug simply because they're unpleasant. I've seen very few towns that size that exhibit such a systemic and willful ignorance regarding society's less-than-happy aspects.

...but whether that has anything to do with this I really don't know. My thoughts to those impacted.
