School Laptops

I'm assuming that they're part of some lab... although what's the point in spending money on laptops for a lab when desktops would be exponentially cheaper.

Either that, or he found someone's laptop.

I would keep a close eye on them.
Here in Kentucky, the schools have the option of either auctioning off unused computers or tossing them in the dumpster.
No other option by law!
Around here, it usually costs at or more than the auctioneer charges, plus the time involved in getting them together, so most school systems just toss them.
They are not allowed to give them away or donate them (?)!!!
When I'm working around schools, I try to keep my eye out for when the end up in the dumpster, then I go dumpster diving!
Always good for a couple simple systems for some kid. (Of course, the IT guys get the better parts, Monitors, etc.)
