Ugh! I've been working my ass of lately, and still my grades are slipping in school. I have a D in geometry and a C in Spanish. Geometry has always been hard for me, but a D!?! And Spanish, normally I get straight A's in that, I don't know why I'm sucking at so much this semester so far. Not to mention, not only are my grades in those classes slipping, but I have so much homework lately!! ARGH!!!

There are always reasons that people do bad in school. For me, it was always time management and laziness, I have found that to be pretty common among most people. Chart your time for a week, you'll see a pattern soon. Unless your problem is more psychological, that's a different story.

Well, not quite. I'm spending less time on the computer now than i was 2 months ago, and 2 months ago my grades were a lot better than they are now. Also note that there are other things that could be taking away from my schoolwork, and it ain't the computer. I'm accompanying 2 people and have 4 piano competitions/recitals coming up in the next two months.

I have the heaviest possible workload of classes and my school and I am tied for first in my class. This six weeks grading period, though I am doing absolutely aweful! I'll be lucky to get a B in college prep (last six weeks I had a high A, I have a C right now, after counting some essays turned in I should have a low B) and other classes are right on the line (I'm thinking A in adv. Bio, possibly Trig, less possibly Spanish, we'll see). We have another few weeks left in the grading period... My life is over... sigh.

Advanced Bio: A/B
Advanced C++: A
College Prep: B
History: A
Advanced Chem: A
Trig/Math Anal. A/B
Spanish 3: A/B
Health A
Gym A

Perhaps you should look into tutoring. A little help never hurts :)

Also make sure you keep up with the work, even if it means a few long nights. Come test time study extra hard. And make sure if there's something you're not clear on to ask!

AHHH! DON'T SAY THAT!!! just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it is for everyone. I do study. Hard. And I'm a good student overall. the key word in this topic was lately.

Here's my last report card:

Band: A
P.E.: A
English Honors: A
Jazz Band: A
Lunch:N/A
Bio-Chem Honors: A
Geometry Honors: C
Spanish II: B

See, I'm good normally, but since the semester switch things haven't been so good.

I've got a 4.8 so far this semester but still it's killing me too. Not only the work load, but the sheer idiocy of some of the teachers. Ahhhhh.. but whatever I've still got about a decade of schooling left. So it's time to chill. :)

Just looked over the thread a little more.. Wow, I can't believe Geometry is giving you a problem, I loved that class.

And this is not 10 classes a day, btw.

AP Chem - A <-- 1
Honors Trig/Analyt - A <-- 2
A + P - A <-- 3
AP Bio 2 - A <-- After school
Video Productions - A <-- Before school
Gym/Health/etc. - A <-- 4
AP Modern Euro Hist - A <-- 5
TV Production(We have a 4 million dollar new studio in our school and we run various tv shows daily, I work on staff as director/editor/pretty much whatever's needed) - A <-- Before school
AP English 3 - A <-- 6
Honors Spanish 3 - A <-- 7

Varsity Football - Starter :p

10 classes a day? You must have a whole 30 min to earn those A's each day, unless of course you have block schedule. In which case, you have an hour every other day to get a 4.8. Does your school have some insane weighting system? Sure, they are AP classes, but how are you taking 8 AP classes a year?

edit: I suppose I should add in my class list to show how I get a 5.0

AP Study Hall - A
AP Calculus BC - A
AP Spanish 4 - A
AP Chemistry 2 - A
AP Bio 3 - A
AP English 4 - A
AP Weigh Lifting - A
AP Lunch - A
AP C++ - A
Honors Basketweaving - A

Gee, I guess you're right, it really isn't that hard to do all that. Oh, and I am a varsity starter in football, soccer, basketball, and the star pitcher for our varsity baseball team. :disgust:

In response, I have a 12 hour school day. And I'm only guessing about the GPA, I haven't figured it out yet. The TV classes are before school starts. And Bio is after it's over.

I have no school!!!!!!!!! Mid-Winter break is awesome!! I have a week off.

Try to work on you grades a step at a time. Try to concentrate on one thing you want to improve. After you're done with that, work on another thing. Don't be overwhelmed. Do things one step at a time. Good Luck!

nice idea thelanx but...

When I received a B in spanish the second six weeks grading period I concentrated on getting an A in Spanish the third. Well guess what? I got the A in spanish but got a B in another class. Now in the long run it doesn't matter, since grades are averaged for GPA and class rank, but it still takes me off the high honor roll. Now the fourth six weeks I am struggling in more classes...
