We always hear how we arent funding schools enough and how it is tough times for school districts across the nation. I am not sure if this is standard practice in other states but this is a classic example of the waste within the school systems in the MN.

A little background on this debacle.

Thandiwe Peebles was hired a couple of years ago for the super job for the Minneapolis school district. The board under pressure to hire a minority went ahead and hired her without her being qualified for the position. She worked towards a certificate that would make her qualified but forced subordinates to do the coursework for her among other things This whole mess came to a head last week when she took a settlement for nearly 200K and left.

Now on top of the ridiculous amount of money they paid an unqualified applicant for her work and the settlement we find out she was leasing a Escalade on tax payers money and this isnt the only district that has this allowance and it isnt the highest allowance either. St. Pauls Super drives around in a Jaguar @ 750 a month!

In MN I have heard we pay 49 cents of every tax dollar for education. With packages like these for the administrators it is no wonder.

btw I believe the dropout and failure rates of the above two districts is near 50% and the cost per student is the highest in the state at about 12K per.

Until the system is reformed you can keep throwing money at the situation and all it will get you is overpaid underqualified liars who milk the system and leave the benefactors(students) out in the cold.

It's things like this that make me want to get involved in local government. Then I just decide to go to the bars instead.

Affirmitive action should be illegal.

Affirmative action should be changed not eliminated, its was a good idea at the time of inception but now it has become outdated and needs to be changed.

Not changed, just disposed of. Nothing says Racism more than you need a business to have a law that requires them to hire you. People should be hired on there qualifications alone, not gender or race.

What about income level? Create incentives for hiring people who are below the poverty line, the poor are the social pariahs of today like blacks were in our history.

There's already an incentive for hiring the poor - it's called "skills". Get some, and employment should not be a problem.

What does affirmative action have to do with a failure rate? Students fail one student at a time.

Best man/woman for the job...regardless of race. To force to choose based on "quotas" sucks and will hurt US competitiveness in the long run (if it already hasn't). IMO.
