Scheduled Task not working as it should

I created a scheduled task which shuts my computer down at 11pm every night. It works as it should except for when I dont have the computer on at 11pm. If it is off at 11pm it shuts down the instant I log in. If I turn the computer on at 5pm the next day, it will shut down as soon as I log in! This is really annoying because I unchecked the box that says "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed".

Right now my workaround is to set the shutdown time to 30 seconds, which gives me enough time to fire up a shutdown /a which aborts the shutdown. Obviously this solution is annoying. I would like to figure out how to make task scheduler work as it should.

i know it seems simple, but have you tried deleting the task and creating it again? i couldnt get something to work right in a DHCP scope the other day and said screw it, and just rebuilt the scope and things started to work properly. /stupid computers

and which OS? probably irrelevant, but im curious
