Was thinking about getting Sceptre X37SV-Naga for gaming on

http://www.sceptre.com/Products/LCD/Specifications/spec_X37SV-Naga.htm

Anyone have this and can you play games like BF2. Fear etc well on it? i have a dell 2405 as well but saw this and it looks cool and i love toys :)

Would use this for new computer im putting together for gaming, might even use kvm switch and do work on it but my concern is how close can i be and it not be painfull to look at. I sit like 2+ft away from me dell2405 i figure i can put this on my desk about 3 to 4 ft away or could mount it on wall and then move desk back a bit. anyone using this let me know or if you have informed opinion chime in

thx

I would get a dell 3007FPW instead. 14ms response time is made up very well by the 2560 x 1600 resolution.

The problem is, gaming on 37'' screen won't produce a worthwile experience. You could get better quality out of a 21'' LCD than that Sceptre you wanted. I would suggest getting a 2005FPW from Dell, they are great monitors.

i have the 2405 and like it alot, just need to get my new computer built so i can run the games i like at better res (my current is 9700pro and 2700XP) i cant hardly run BF2 or Fear without it getting choppy. Was thinking i was going to get another 2405 or 27-30in LCD TV for using with my work laptop (so icould have more desktop to work on , more windows open etc) and have TV available then i saw this one and thought it would be good for gaming as well. Anyone have or game on any LCD/TV like this?

ya saw that, costco has them now for 1500 though. Im just wondering if using this as primary monitor for gaming system is going to be really cool or no. You have one whats your thoughts? can you sit in front and game BF2, Fear etc on that thing 4 ft away?

For me it needs to be 6ft away at least to be comfortable. But at that distance, it's amazing. With dimmed lights and 5.1 sound, games get as immersive as they can be. That and 4-player Xbox has never been better..

I hadn't heard of the V2 issues that people on newegg are complaining about. So I'm off googling and at the moment I'm reading this thread

ya i looked at that thread already. Im just debating how it would work, i cant have it anywhere i can work with it that will be that far away, at most if its on edge of desk or wall ill be about 3-4 ft away from it. not sure on those vers 2 issues either, seems some people see it others dont. now with this Dell 30 in im wondering if that is way to go AHHHHHHHHHHHHH to many choices. I just want to have Awesome gaming sys/monitor so i can play these games ive been chuggin along on at 800x600 for so long because my old 9700 cant do it. I got the 2405 but i cant run any res high on that because card/sys cant handle it. im going to go out tomorrow in town and see if anyone has that asus board and then ill order the rest of the parts (opteron 175, mushkin 2x1gb, wd400 hd , etc) and get it built in a week or so. Just need to decide if getting this huge LCD for new monitor is it or just get something else

thx

I say go for it. If you can set it 4ft away, you should be fine, but probably a little overwhelmed at first.

Looks beautiful, and the only time I notice ghosting was UT2K4 cranked to 1.35 gamespeed. Be sure to use the DVI input mode though. The black levels leave a little to be desired but thats a problem with all LCDs.

I also want this LCD quite a lot, I need something that I can use for DVD/Game Consoles and PC monitor, due to the way the room is positioned I can only have a couch opposite my computer desk. I've been looking into this set for weeks, but after hearing about the DVI problems (same AVS forum link you posted) I'm hesitant. Ribbon you should post some pictures of gameplay if you could. Also is general desktop use concievable? (I.E. web browsing, chatting, document writing etc)

Sweet, be sure to give us a mini review when you get it, oh and pics would be nice:) Seems like most guys who have tried this with similar LCD Tv's have been very happy.
