Will this LCD TV work good as a monitor? The recommended resolution is 1920x1080, a lot higher than the 1366x768 I've seen on other LCD TVs. I'm no expert though, which is why I'm asking whether or not this TV will work as a good pc monitor.

ya it should,
but it's not practical
it's good for leisure pc, to play games etc, but seriosly, you'll get a neck strain from so much space.
I have 2 x 17 + 20" all lcs, triple monitor setup, still, my main work area is the center 20" (1680x1050 philips) screen

But to each his own, I intend on buying a 1920x1080 once LG starts selling them in europe for less than 2000Euro ($2500).

Only if your desk is gigantic. If you're planning to use it at the regular ~15-18" distance that is normally used for monitors, you'll be killing your eyes. I would say that you should sit at least 25 inches away (1m) if you want to keep your eyesight.

I've used it on my desk (got it for my gf as a TV), and it was WAY too big. I got a Dell 24" and it's about as high as I would go in terms of a desktop monitor.

I have the 37" Sceptre as my TV/Monitor. I sit 6'+, not on a desk at 2'. It's a great PC monitor, I run it via DVI->HDMI cable.
