Is there a Sports Car Club-eqivalent in Toronto Canada? I went on the SCCA website (www.scca.org) to see if they had any groups in Canada, but they don't.

Also are there any tracks nearby in Toronto that the public can use for 1/4 mi time trials and drag racing?

Thanks

GL: Steeles and what other road? Like what intersection?

I'm not asking so I can race people, but just because I want to go fast as I can without getting a ticket and also to test out the car's handling abilities safely and legally. I wanna dyno the car and just see how fast it can go!

Thanks for the help though!

Then Milley's is not the place to do that.
Gotta goto St. Thomas Dragway to do that, not sure if they have a dyno though.

Btw what kinda car do you have?

Well I have a '91 Corolla and a '99 Maxima.

I wanna test out the Maxima and unleash its full potential (safely & legally)! St. Thomas Dragway is too far though! Isn't there anything near Scarborough? Or even Pickering? I don't mind going to Pickering... The City of Toronto should really open up some drag-racing facility for us! They were talking about it on the news once (on CityTV).

I'm only 17 so I don't want to do anything stupid on the streets...yet. I wanna do stupidness in a controlled environment. (Stupidness means sharp turns, skids, etc..)

The only thing I do now is floor the car if I'm first at the stoplight and let it coast once it hits 60km/h. Is it dangerous for the car if I floor it everytime?? Both cars are automatics and are properly maintained. My dad says it is bad for the engine but I think the VQ30DE engine in the Max can take it!

Thanks for your replys!

Your out of luck, the closest one is in london, next one being somewhere near the border.
As for flooring it at the stoplight all the time, i think its pointless unless your playing with the car beside you every single time. Is it bad for the engine? Maybe, if you do it couple times a day then no, but if you do it just too many times then it might be since you're putting a lot more stress on your engine. If you plan on doing that every single day i suggest you change the oil more often.

Well I do it cause I enjoy listening to the sweet song the engine plays as well as the seat-in-your-pants feeling. It may not be a lot to you, but to me it's a LOT! (I'm coming from a 100hp Corolla so the Max feels like a Ferrari to me!) I'm 17 so obviously I'm gonna enjoy doing things like this. Hopefully it will pass away. It's just addictive though!!

Thanks for your help Shabby!
