My pager just went off with the daily news and the headline reads: "WashPost: PULSE Felt in body in D.C. morgue"
Any thoughts?

"So we bagged her up and came back with her," a source said. "It bothers me because the woman may have been alive when we put her in the damn plastic bag. I don't want to feel like I had a part in her death."
Wilson's body was removed from refrigeration and taken to the hallway. Petrasek checked for a pulse again and "a pulse was still felt," according to the report.
The medical examiner's staff called D.C. paramedics, and Wilson was placed on a cardiac monitor but showed no heart activity, Arden said. She was formally pronounced dead at 3 p.m.
I can see them all look at each other and are like, "I'm hungry"We all looked at each other and said, 'Okay, she is dead.' "

well, when the body is in frickin' rigor mortis....
i dunno. this kind of stuff can happen i guess... there have been cases when people have been buried alive... then somebody hears some muffled noise from the ground, they dig up the grave, and find some dead guy with bloody nails and scratch marks on the lid.

When the body was removed from the bed, "she sighed and she moaned," the source said. The supervisor from the medical examiner's office heard the noises and said, "It's just aspirations. No big deal," the source said.

:Q links?
Back in Victorian England in the mid 1800's, they had a very morbid fear of being buried alive. There was even a practice of putting a bell on a string on top of a coffin. The string would go through a hole in the coffin (which was also large enough to make sure the "dead" person could get air, if necessary) and be placed in the dead person's hand. If they revived for whatever reason, they were to pull the string and ring the bell.Originally posted by: ScrapSilicon
