Scary mouse..

I have a dell laptop that is plugged into a docking station. Recently the mouse has started moving on its own, it just won't stop crawling to the edge of the screen.

When the laptop is out of the docking station the touchpad on it is fine.

Does anybody know what I can do?

I've noticed it too. I'm guessing it's a bug in the Windows mouse driver, because it's happened to me with different brands and models of mice, but only when using Windows.

can you get a screensaver cat to catch the crawling mouse?

But on the subject of screensavers, does the crawling mouse prevent a screensaver from loading, or bring the system out of the screensaver mode?

What type of mouse are you using? Have you tried another mouse/different port?

Check the path of the mouse cable, there may be some other device causing signal interference. Yes montag, a crawling mouse will interfere with the screensaver.

Try this: control panel > mouse > uncheck enhance pointer precision.
