scar cremes

They really don't work much, or at all. If you have a very superficial scar it might work, maybe.
Kelocote is supposed to be the best out of all of them (although that's not saying much). Take their testimonials with a grain of salt.

If you really want to lessen a scar, keep putting neosporin ointment on the damaged area (as soon as you have the wound) for 30days or more. Once you have a significant scar there's really no way to get rid of it outside of cosmetic surgery (peels, laser, etc). I have a few big keloids on my neck that need to be removed because they irritate me when I shave. Otherwise I wouldn't care.

what a good question. my husband gouged a chunk out of the middle of his forehead last weekend.. it's not a scar yet because it's barely healing, but.. someone recommended that mederma stuff, and he indicated he'd try it if I bought it, so.. I may..

neosporin would do as good? I had hard enough time getting him to put some of that on it when it was a new wound.. not sure he ever actually did..

Just as good? Much better. That's what my dermatoligist told me- they advertise neosporin on TV as lessening scars.

You have to do it immediately, so get him to start doing it a few times a day for a month. Surgery is not a pleasant option, even minor surgery. I can't afford it, so I have to live with it.
