scannow question

I like to use scannow to repair my copy of WinXP. This is the procedure that I follow when I do the scan.

Insert a slipstreamed copy of WinXP-SP2 into my CD ROM drive (HotFixes are not intergrated into the slipstreamed CD). Open the Run window and type "SFC.exe /scannow" and hit OK. Everything works and files are fixed - I think!

My question is this. When you run 'SFC.exe /scannow" does it replace HotFix files with the original files that are on the slipstreamed CD and leave WinXP with unpatched files. If so, how can this be fixed? Can I uninstall the HotFixes and then reinstall them?

In other words, when you use scannow how do you know if you have a fully patched OS when your done?

Thanks for your help.

I just ran SfC /scannow the other day. I don't think it messes with any of the Hot Fixes. All my updates seemed to be intact. None were available at MS update site.
