Scanning Problems

Our school has a HP scanjet 4400c scanner that is not working properly. The pictures are appearing in the wrong colors and very blurry. I don't know much about scanners, but it appears that there is a fog on the inside on the glass. These pictures are intended for a yearbook. We are using the Precisionscan Pro program to scan these pictures and running XP pro. Thanks for the help

So its almost like moisture got in the scanner? I'm guessing its no longer under warranty. I would open it up and try cleaning the glass but this may not be that easy.
