Scanning electrical items, OK or NOT?

I am trying to sell my old video card and CPU on Ebay or something, and since I don't have a digital camera, I was thinking about scanning them with my scanner and use that picture. Is it ok to scan CPU's and Video Cards etc, or is the process going to mess up them up? I would think scanner is just a light so it will be ok, but I'm not sure if it has any electromagnetic effect on electronic products.

Thanks a lot.

Nah, the scanning process won't hurt it. But you're not likely to get any worthwhile pictures that way.
Find a friend with a digital camera, or take the pics with a regular camera and get a PhotoCD when you develop it.

Actually, for tech stuff like this, I don't really see the point of a pic on EBay. Just put up the specs.
