Whats the best scanner to get.Nothing to demanding just your basic scanner.What specs should i look for on a USB scanner?

Recently my old (96) Mustek Paragon 1200 died, so I read the online reviews of scanners at pcmag and pcworld. I purchased the Visioneer 7600 ($90) and the Epson 1200U ($200). No matter how I adjusted the settings on the 7600 - gamma, contrast, brightness, I could not accurately reproduce the colors in several test photos I was using. On the other hand, the Epson was nearly perfect, and I especially like the 'auto expose' feature. Although the images w/out auto expose were a bit dark, the colors were exact. Even though speed was not a big factor for me, the Epson was faster as well. I would recommend the Epson 1200.
