Scanners

My Mom wants to scan 1000's of pictures to her computer. Doing it with a flatbed scanner will take a long time. Is there anything out there that will let you push a picture though and automate a lot of the process?

Look for a photo printer/scanner that has a sheet feeder. All the major printer manufacuurers have a number of models in various price ranges that will do that. It's just a matter of finding one that will reproduce photos with the quality you need. Go to the stores with some of your photos and try then out.

Another approach might be to have them done commercially. There are many choices. Here is a sample:

Scan

1000 photos would cost about $270. She wouyld get top quality and have them on a CD or DVD. The job is done.

Pushing through 1000 photos even with a sheet feeder is still a big job, and that does not include editing time.
