Scanner takes forever to be "ready"

Our USB scanner takes forever to start scanning, after hitting the "scan" button. What's up with that? When we first bought and installed the scanner, it wasn't like this. Nowdays it takes literally 5 minutes for it to start scanning.

this is a problem i encountered as well with my printer...

try updating the firmware if possible... and try using it on another computer to make sure it is the scanner... (that auctally ended up being my problem)

All scanners require a warmup time for the light. If this time is now longer then something is wrong with the scanner or the driver.

Uninstall and re-install the drivers (you may also want to see if there's a newer driver available on the manufacturer's website while you're at it).

If the problem persists, it's time for a new scanner.
