Scanner software for HP printer

I finally got rid of my old printer and bought a HP Office Jet Pro 8620e. The price was right. After markdowns, etc and trade in on my old printer the final price was $119.00.
I'd like to upgrade, add or replace the scanner software with one that lets me create searchable pdf documents. And, maybe be a bit more versatile then the included software. Price range starts at FREE (LOLOL) and maybe up to $30 or higher depending on what the software can do. I'm using Win 7, 64 bit.

The full version of the HP driver software will include a scan program.
