Scanner shows message "Insufficient memory"

I recently replaced my old mother board with a ASUS P5-G-MX. This upgrade included an Intel Core2Duo E660 CPU, (2) 512MB -4200 CL4 240 DDR2 Memory, and a 250GB SATA II HDD.
My problem is that after the upgrade my Epson Perfection 1660 Photo printer, which worked perfectly before the upgrade, and appears to be working well now.still send an error message an error message ?Insufficient memory or disk space?.
I have 1024 MBytes of DDR2 memory. Is that what they are talking about?
I also have around 125 GB of free space on my HDD. Can anyone give me a clue?

Last time I had that situation with a scanner after an upgrade, I found much newer software than I had on cd, available via download from the scanner mfg. <fwiw>
