that 4400 is not real. its software enhanced.

I'd take the Fujitsu just to be non-HP. HP has the sloppiest drivers ever. They're too damn popular.

is it just me or do these specs seem pretty crappy for a scanner?

optical resolution: 600dpi

Speed (a4, normal mode)
Color 150dpi, B&W 300dpi :
Simplex, Duplex 15 pages per minute
