Look at where the power supply plugs in, or else for a label somewhere. It should list voltage and amperage requirements.
What does the plug look like? Round? Two pins? Three, what?

And, look for anything that might indicate polarity.

http://www.bgmicro.com sells lots of power supplies that will fit various devices. Just find out the voltage/current/connector size and polarity (+ on pin or shell) you need and go look.

It should be on the label on the bottom or back of the scanner that should give you the voltage and current needed. and either on the same label or near where the connector plugs in will give the polarity
it looks like a C with a dot in the middle and a line comes off the positive one with a + so you know which is positive - the pin or the shell. You might be able to take it to radio shack to find out what size connector it needs as they carry most sizes and power supplies that support one or more sizes. But their supplies are much more expensive than at BG micro.

as for the plugs im not sure.. it has a bunch of plugs for useless sh!t like adapters and all .. ;/

theres 3 circular plugs and 1 USB port .

the circular ones have symbols above em.. first one has ADF above it, next has XPA, and the third has a solid line and 3 broken lines beneath the solid line.. ADF has 8 holes (for a plug), XPA has 5 or 6, and the last has just a little thing poking out of it (where if something needed to be connected the thing getting connected would have a hole in it for the printers socket thing..)

so it looks like you need 24V at one amp. Here it is on HP's site - $17.54 and here's a place that has it for $9.00 per froogle: http://www.consumerdepot.com/products.asp?id=C7690-84200-B
. And one at bgmicro that would probably work for $6.95. Has more current capacity than you need, but that won't hurt anything. Having too little would be a problem.
. You could have easily found all of this yourself. Hmmm. Sloth, isn't that a sin.?. ;) He helps those who help themselves.

You wouldn't happen to have a digital camera that can focus really close up, do you? It'd suck for you to get an adapter and plug it in with the polarity wrong. On the plus side, if you do that, you wouldn't need to worry about finding another power supply. :p
