Scanner Canon 340NP + Asus K7M MB = doesnt work...Anyone can help?

Heyas...

I have ecountered problems with Canon Scanner 340NP and my machine. When scanner is connected and I try to make a scan, software reports 'other error: code xxxx...xxxx'.

The scanner works fine on other machines.

I have tried modifying Parallel Port settings in BIOS (EPP/ECP), but didnt help the cause.

Hardware:
Athlon 500/650
Asus K7M

(..I think the rest isnt important)

Any suggestions/hints would be helpful...
