Hey all.....I just scanned my system and found a trojan. It's the TROJ_AVID.A. I did a search and didn't find anything on it. It might be an old one. I got it from Morpheus probably a little while back when I downloaded something and didn't think to scan my system. DUH! So, know how to get rid of it?

I'm going to try to get some sleep I haven't gone to bed yet. Plus....someone was just beating on our front door (about a quarter to 6 in the morning) and they're paving the driveway. WTF? Why didn't they tell us this earlier? So...... There's so much noise I don't know if I'll go to sleep or not....lol You may see me back here in a while.

Thanks in advance and I wasn't sure which forum in which to stick this....so I stuck it here. :D :p ;)

Heya

That is an aol Instant messenger password stealing trojan.

Read here

You can go hereand do an online virus scan. Then it will either clean it or delete it. If it says it is 'uncleanable' then you should delete the file in question.

You may also want to uninstall and then reinstall all aol related software as well as change all your passwords...

Fortunately the latex in a Trojan is electrically neutral, so it won't short out your system or anything, but you'd better tell your boyfriend how to flush a toilet.

For most of you.....you all are just pervs. :Q :p ;)

And, I just got online again. The virus is still there because it says it's uncleanable. So do I do what snooker said and just delete the file in question? Will that take care of it? Then, what all do I need to do for AIM?

Thanks for all your help. I've never had to do this before. I'll be back in a bit to check this again.

Thank everyone for your help. I have another question...... I have deleted the infected file. Now, do I have to uninstall and reinstall AIM or just change my passwords?
