Scanned documents print blue

Nevermind the blue part.

My HP6310 won't print anything black. The monitor program shows the cartridge is full; I've had it for a year or so but printed hardly anything so I doubt it is empty. I've pulled the cartridge and put it back.

Any other suggestions?

Could be that your black cart (contains the printhead) is dried out. Run some hot water over it and see if that loosens anything. Easy fix to try is change the black cartridge.

Excellent, thank you Corky! I ran some warm water over the end and dried it and it's working perfectly.

Interestingly, if you hold tissue against the print head it will just soak ink right out. I did that a few times before realizing I wasn't drying water off anymore...
