Scanjet 8200

I have an HP 8200 that produces just awful looking copies from the front panel copy button. A small screen pops up with a few control adjustments, but they don't do justice at all!

The only way I can get a "decent copy", is to go through the hassle of a full "document scan" under the HP Director software, adjust all the settings like you were doing a photo, then send to printer...??? WAAAY to time consuming....!!!

I use to have an HP 6300 and I could put a shortcut to the copy function on the desktop, and it had a really nice and efficient interface to make fast, perfect copies...they looked as good as a xerox copy.....these on the 8200 are light and tinted even when doing b/w text, which is all I am doing...??? Do I have some settings set wrong for this function? Is there any 3rd party software that is really good, or is there somewhere I can get the copy function software that was in the 6300 to work???

THANKS!

Richard
