I know there are several members here that have the scangaugeII, but my wife got me the GL1 from GoPoint Technologies for Christmas and I am trying to decide which of the two would suit me best.
Basically, when purchasing the GL1 you buy the cable that plugs into your vehicle and then plugs into your Iphone, Ipod touch ect.

It seems to work well enough, reporting all information my 2007 Ford Ranger sends. Basically with the GL1 you get a nice GUI with real time graphs with the information the sensors report.
I don't really like having to have my Ipod plugged in to get that information. Plus there isn't a great way that I have found to mount it in a way I can monitor the info while driving.
Scangauge guys... although you have likely not seen the GoPoint App before, is the Scangauge a better option do you think?

Looks much better than a SGII. OTOH you need to plug in your iDevice.

this is big for apple because once you buy this... your forced to have a itouch/iphone if you want to keep using this. if it breaks, screen cracks your somewhat forced to buy another one. compared to a scangauge which is a stand-alone unit.

both can do the same job, its basic OBD2 stuff that a a $40 pocket tool can do but it has very nice looking UI. If i didn't have ELMSCAN same idea but for a laptop, i would consider getting a ipod/android based one. But neither SG or this ipod based one can remotely do what a real scantool can.

Since you have it enjoy it, thats all i can say.
