Scandisk replacement

Does anyone know of a Scandisk like program I can use to identify and repair possible hard drive problems in Windows XP... I would appriciate it
 
Chkdsk...the free version that comes with windows. Not quite as thorough as scandisk, but it will find file / directory problems.
